Eat Drink, Journey, Issue #024--6/12/2017

Hello all,

Many of us have bucket lists, but few of us have the time, energy and resources to make those items a reality. Contributor Ken Schechet wanted to see Vietnam. Recently he embarked on an epic journey that took him first to Singapore, where he filed several reports on the celebrated street hawkers of that city (where else can you find a Michelin-starred meal for $2?).

When Ken arrived in Vietnam, he spent several weeks eating his way along the entire length of the country, and sent us two dispatches last week. The first was a survey of the street food in the old city of Hanoi. His second post, A Primer on Vietnamese Food, highlighted the most special dishes he encountered from North to South. Both stories were accompanied by photographs that brought the food to life.
